As a writer, I am most energized by the challenge of sneaking high-minded, theoretical scientific concepts into narratives both grounded and engaging for, well, hopefully anyone else.
Take Lennox Mutual: a first-of-its-scope telephonic immersive experience I co-created with Candle House Collective. Lauded by the New Yorker, the New York Times, and American Theatre Magazine – to name a few – “LM” is a long-form, serialized interactive epic that winds astrophysical meditation, sword and sorcery roleplay, and medical bureaucracy together in the fractal illogic of a black hole. Alternatively, it's phone tree that dares every prospective customer to spend their time wisely. You can ask our dedicated customers on Reddit if you want to know more.
Similarly, I also co-created Candle House Collective’s first in-person immersive production The Pineapple, a motel-bound meditation on interstellar communication, divine conception, and Jimmy Buffett.
Every once in a while, I use my experience on both sides of the camera/proscenium to help others refine their stories for the stage or screen, be it in filling out an outline, punching up a scene, or just tweaking dialogue to make it pop.
Nevertheless, I have recently resolved to turn my attention back toward my own blank page, daunting as that feels. What will come of it? Who knows! But I’m excited to find out.
If you’re curious to follow the journey with me, or you’d like my eyes on a story of your own…
